Autodromo

Autodromo was the second favela that we decided to explore while in Rio.  It was located near the soon to be Olympic village, which put the residence of this community in a tight situation (seeing as they are technically squatters).  Aside from these affairs, the town was gorgeous (built alongside the river) and the people were overly friendly (even the town's humble Satanist).
The local corner store, located across from the community park
Finding the only smooth concrete wall in the entire favela!
Over the river and through the woods; to the favela houses we go!
A lovely entry to a humble abode
The popular hangout for local kids to try out their best pick-up lines to any lady with blond hair
